DTUSA is a place for dancers to learn new approaches to movement and expand their mindset beyond "competition mentality."
To this end, all classes at DTUSA, strive to train the dancer's body, brain and heart. - the BODY is trained through attention to technical safety. In order to dance and move without injury, proper alignment and position are vital. However, all technical elements are tools, not rules and the dancers need to cultivate an open minded approach to movement. -all DTUSA classes seek to educate the BRAIN of the dancer.
Hip Hop classes teach foundation steps, pillar philosophy, and hip hop history. Ballet classes offer insight into the rich language of the French vocabulary.
Tap classes include information on evolution and background, as well as insight on tap greats like Astaire, Kelly, and Nicholas Bros.
Contemporary classes focus on its technique, contemporary dance tends to combine the strong and controlled legwork of ballet with modern dance’s stress on the torso, and also employs contract-release, floor work, fall and recovery.
Our DTUSA faculty & Staff come from Broadway Dance Center along with European dance educators & choreographers from Pina Bausch, Alvin Ailey, & Martha Graham. -Every class at DTUSA is a personal experience.
Your child is NOT a number, but a young artist in training. Our faculty will never treat your child as anything less.
